1. Who we are
Takin is a home-services marketplace that connects customers with verified technicians (plumbers, electricians, AC repair and similar trades). Takin is operated by Mohammad Taha ("we", "us", "Takin"), who is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

2. Scope
This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Takin mobile app and related services, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It applies to everyone who uses Takin, wherever they are located.
3. Data we collect
Information you provide
- Account details: full name, email address, phone number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Profile details: profile photo, home/service address and city.
- Service data: bookings you create, the service category, scheduling, in-app chat messages between you and the technician, and ratings or reviews you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Location: GPS coordinates / the location you set, used to match you with nearby technicians and to share the service address with the technician you book.
- Device & technical data: push-notification device tokens, IP address, and app usage/diagnostic logs.
4. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account.
- To match customers with technicians and enable bookings and scheduling.
- To power in-app chat, status updates and push notifications about your bookings.
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- To keep the service safe and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the service you signed up for.
- Consent — for example, device location and push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to keep Takin secure, prevent abuse and improve the service.
- Legal obligation — to retain financial records as required by law.
6. How we share your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the service:

These providers act as our processors and may process data in other countries (see section 11). We may also disclose data where required by law.
7. Location data
We use location to find nearby technicians and to give the technician the service address. You can turn off location sharing at any time in your device settings; some features may stop working as a result.
8. Data retention
- We keep account and profile data for as long as your account is active.
- When you delete your account, identifying data is erased or anonymized (see section 9).
- Records of completed jobs and their amounts/fees are kept in anonymized form for up to 7 years to satisfy tax and accounting obligations, then deleted.
- Technical logs are kept only for a short period.
9. Account & data deletion
You can delete your Takin account and personal data in either of these ways:
- In the app: Settings → Delete Account.
- On the web, without signing in: use our account & data deletion page.
Deleting your account permanently erases or anonymizes your name, email, phone number, address, location, profile photo, device tokens, account credits and any active bookings, and closes the account so it can no longer be used to sign in. Anonymized records of completed jobs and their amounts are retained for up to 7 years as described above. We process deletion requests within 30 days and email you a confirmation.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time; and
- lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

11. International transfers
Because our service providers operate globally, your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.
12. Children
Takin is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), securely hashed passwords, rate limiting and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
